Let's Spell Love : T I M E.You learn something every day if you pay attention," says a Chinese proverb. Well, today I learned something new and it was simply by watching others with open eyes and an open heart! Today during this family's lightwriting session, I learned that love really is a gift, created in the moments that we forget to realize are even there until we look back and manifests itself in ways we forget to notice until they're absent. A C.S.Lewis quote probably best describes what I mean: "Isn't if funny how day by day nothing changes, but when you look back, everything is different." The task this morning was to capture some of the life in this beautiful family, twelve dear friends of mine who are moving this summer to Pennsylvania and to Idaho for work, for school and for college. We've been continuously looking back and seeing that our friendship and the vivacity of life in it is so different than when we first met, yet day to day when we see each other it seems like we've known each other forever and it's always been that way. I was thrilled to capture some of the fun, the laughs, the funny quips and tricks, teamwork and the chaos of big family love! All the fun times we created are moments we often forget to remember until they are only our treasured memories. The future holds so much, and we can only choose to walk into it with excitement to create more life, love, trust, friends and memories! Since each family member has their own story to tell, all the handsome big brothers and each precious little girl, their beautiful, faithful mother and their hardworking, loving father, this was my biggest lightwriting project yet, both literally with twelve people to position perfectly inside my viewfinder, and symbolically with this beautiful story! However, together, this whole family's lightwritng story is greater than the sum of all its parts and I couldn't be more excited to be able to capture just a little bit of their story. What's your story? =)
![]() Ahaha! It's spring again! Sorry for not posting much recently!
It's nearly finals week & the end of the semester, and well, I've been incredibly busy! But yet with all the busyness, I've been able to experience the amazing beauty and blessings of this time of year. College classes are ending, the school year is ending, cold weather is ending (hopefully!), and life is turning the seasonal corner.
As those things come to an end, however, other things also are beautifully come to life again. Redeeming the time, and enjoying the seasons- that's part of the beauty of spring!
What makes spring such a beautiful season is the long, cold, and quiet days of peaceful winter that precede it. The glorious sunrise comes only after the darkest part of night! =) Light writing opportunities are all around!
I am so thrilled to write photography stories with the light of springtime! Where are you? Can't wait to see what kinds of stories I'll get to write from you!?
I'm almost officially a college sophomore! It's hard to believe, but there are only two more weeks of classes. Lots of studying and work is left to do, so I will get back to it. Enjoy this gorgeous spring day today everyone!

![]() In this photo there are two beautiful stringed instruments: a violin and a cello.
What angle do you enjoy seeing an instrument from?
The "straight-on" angle of just admiring its physical beauty on the shelf? The angle from the perspective of the someone who tunes the instrument? From the angle of watching someone else play them? Or fo you like the look from the angle of playing them yourself? Try your hand at new angle today! A lesson I have learned is that angle does matter! Changing your orientation can alter your whole perspective, or enlighten your current perspective! =) Try new things & enjoy today! Have a great day! =)

The best photos are the photos with meaning... I had a blast with the Scardino family, today! The 139 photos in 75 minutes are our proof! =) Jokes, Hugs, all-around fun, laughs, barks, cookies, cars, puppies, and stockings: they give a new definition to hilarious good fun! =). Below are a few favorites from the family lightwriting session today! Enjoy! =) "Life is too short to be serious all the time." ![]() The memories people have are irreplaceable, and they hold emotional value. What was that time when the kid you had a crush on as a little kid helped you on the playground, or that time Grandpa held you on his knee and said told you you were his special grandchild that he could be proud of, or that time when you stepped into a new school surrounded by unfamiliar territory and that one friend popped in your face saying, "HI!"! Life is full of moments like those: and there are certain photographers that strive to capture moments that are memories- moments that are stories-- moments that have value. My friend Wilfredo did that to me: and it opened up a floodgate of moments with treasured memories I shall never ever forget. <3 =) At my highschool, Stratford Classical Christian Academy, I get to have the privilege of leading the Yearbook committee. Yearbooks are exactly for that purpose-- to make a photo history book of the school year. It has value, because people remember moments that trigger stories or events or emotions in their minds and hearts. It has purpose, because everyone is involved in it and brings the school together as one. It has a storybook value, for its layout and content tell a story of what the school's motto and goal is, and what the students are like-- what their goals are too as students. Moments are memories. Memories that are captured in each photo in a school yearbook are exactly the value that people treasure forever. What's your favorite high school memory, based on a moment in time that you remembered from seeing a photo of it? I love remembering past moments; Do you? |
